Best poolside games that require no planning or equipment

My first non-fussy eating post, but hopefully of use to those who find themselves poolside this summer. Games suitable for swimming age and above

1. Find The Bottle

If you fill any water bottle up to the top with pool water and put the top back on, it is virtually invisible under water. Get your child to turn away whilst you throw it in the pool and they have to keep diving till they find it. Simple, but hours of fun!

2. Treasure Hunt

Use any coins on you and throw them randomly into the pool. The kids can hunt for them as a team or do a competition who can find the most. Winner is the one with the most coins collected or even the total value of them.

Extra: If you have Scrabble or Bananagrams, hide letters that create a word of your choice and then the kids have to find the pieces then make that word.

3. Under The Sea(Legs)

Your legs are the arch and your child has to swim under. Open and close your legs and pretend to ‘trap’ your child as they go under or keep legs closed whilst they pretend to press a button to open the ‘gates’ (a toe or kneecap for example). Make it harder by not telling them the button to press and watch the delight on their faces trying to figure it out whilst they come up for air!
