Pizza & Shaker Salad!

The shaker salad is a fun way to make veggies more interactive for the whole family.  Everyone gets to choose what they want to add into it, even if that means just choosing one ingredient to shake! (my son did this the first time but that’s still ok; he has built up and expanded the more we have done)

GET AHEAD: Chop veggies the night before and put in tupperware

Serving suggestion:
-
A large dollop of long-term thinking (don’t focus on just one meal)
- A cup of cheerful conversation (no bribery, just connection)
- A pinch of salt (how you should take all food rejection!)
- Lashings of laissez-faire (the less you micro manage, the better)

Equipment needed:
- One cocktail shaker/empty jam jar/tupperware
- Chopped up veggies, rice, pasta or whatever you fancy (If you can get the kids to help in the preparation, even better

Method:

1. Get the kids to spoon in whatever they fancy into the cocktail shaker. Try to include new items on offer as well as they may just surprise you!
2 Have dressings, lemon, balsamic vinegar, seasoning on offer.
3 Whack the lid on and shake. Take lid off, put your plate on top, flip over and voila.

A lovely little accompaniment to something like pizza where there is no pressure to just eat the salad.
